About

The Chenaulte Dancers Competitive Dance Teams were formed in 1994 by Ms. Wyonna Chenault to promote a positive athletic outlet for the youth in Dayton and surrounding communities.  After five years of State and National competitions and recognition, championship titles and awards, Wyonna pursued a lifelong goal to coach a university competitive dance team.  During her tenure, she coached and choreographed for Wilberforce University (Wilberforce, Ohio) as well as developed a competitive collegiate dance team that went on to win several national titles to date at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio.  This is the 26th year of Chenaulte Dancers and the 16th year of "The Studio"  a training facility to the award winning Chenaulte Dancers competitive dance teams and classes.

The mission of the organization is to help students set and attain goals while focusing on positive, healthy lifestyles. The organization promotes self-discipline, self-control and positive self-worth through our actions, words and thoughts.  As we reach for our personal and team shining stars, we will commit to our vision and nurture our integrity all through our loyalty to the art of dance.

Chenaulte implements a holistic approach to develop the competitor in all basic forms of dance and competition training.  We educate our students on dance terminology, dance basics and level appropriate skills  as well as technical training to achieve personal and team goals.

The staff and students of Chenaulte Dancers always strive for personal and team excellence.  Our staff and team members are considered family.  We expect our staff to serve as positive, personal and professional role models to our students.  We want our students to be socially responsible by giving back to the community, school, at home and on the dance floor.
